In an effort to fill the void of exciting family entertainment in Utah County, Brandt Andersen created the Utah Flash -- an NBA Development League (D-League) team. Utah Flash spectators will experience the skills of up-and-coming players who are tomorrow's NBA stars, with the accessibility of a hometown team.
For those unfamiliar with the NBA D-League, it is an exciting brand of professional basketball. D-League basketball games provide fans with an opportunity to be a part of the action, get "personal" with future NBA stars, and let fans enjoy professional basketball at a family price. Attending team games and events will be a worthwhile family activity, however, premium seats for the Utah Flash's inaugural season have nearly sold out for 2007-08, which opens in November.
Brandt Andersen was also just appointed to the NBA D-League's Steering Committee. He is the youngest and only new owner to sit on the five-person board, which will work directly with NBA commissioner David Stern's office to oversee policy and strategic direction for the league.
